Farnborough Aerospace Centre

Overview

Farnborough Aerospace Centre is one of the South’s premier business parks, hosting international companies such as BAE Systems, Zurich Insurance, and Lockheed Martin. With nine buildings providing over one million sq. ft. of office accommodation, it was the largest Design & Build contract in Europe at the time, valued at £110 million. We were engaged to manage tenant fit-out requirements for the principal occupier, BAE Systems.

The Challenge

BAE required the new facilities to support a strategic rationalisation programme, enabling closure of regional production plants and consolidation of operations at Farnborough. The challenge was to determine and deliver bespoke fit-out requirements across multiple stakeholders while ensuring the programme remained within budget and schedule.

Our Approach

We provided integrated leadership by:

• Consulting with stakeholders and end-user groups to confirm requirements.

• Establishing and directing a dedicated multi-disciplinary project team.

• Preparing designs and specifications tailored to tenant needs.

• Instructing and managing the main contractor to deliver the construction fit-out works.

The Outcome

All office and support facilities were fitted out successfully within budget and schedule. The timely delivery enabled BAE to implement its phased plant rationalisation strategy, consolidating operations and securing long-term occupancy at the Aerospace Centre.
